Jouvert, derived from the French "jour ouvert" meaning "daybreak," is a vibrant Caribbean festival that marks the beginning of Carnival with music, dance, and the playful smearing of paint, mud, or oil. It symbolizes freedom, joy, and the breaking of social constraints, bringing together people from all walks of life in a shared celebration of liberation and community. For Dubai's market, we will adapt the celebrations to create a brunch setting from 2pm-10pm and end our Carnival celebrations on a beautiful high note.

Can I drink ALCOHOL in Dubai?

Alcohol is readily available in licensed restaurants, nightclubs, bars, and hotels. Dubai offers plenty of beautiful and stylish venues where you can enjoy drinks, including world-class rooftop lounges and beachfront bars.

Many of Dubai’s music festivals, brunches, pool parties, sports events, and special occasions serve unlimited alcohol.

As a visitor, you can thoroughly enjoy drinks in these areas, but public intoxication and drinking in unlicensed spaces are not allowed.

Dubai Caribbean Carnival is being held in a licensed beachfront venue where alcohol consumption is perfectly A-okay!

Do I need a Visa when visiting Dubai?

Yes! Please be reminded that an e-visa is required for travel to Dubai. Don’t worry—getting your e-visa is simple and easy!

Here’s how:

1. **Apply online** through Dubai's official e-visa portal or your airline's website. You can also visit our all-inclusive package link for assistance, if needed.

2. **Submit your documents** including a passport copy and a passport-sized photo.

3. **Pay the small fee** online, and wait for your e-visa to be processed (usually within 3–5 business days).

4. **Receive your e-visa** via email and print it out before traveling.

That’s it! You’re all set to enjoy your Dubai Caribbean Carnival Weekend.

Make sure to apply ahead of time to avoid any delays and to breathe comfortably!

**Visa Exempt Nationals (No Visa Required)*

Citizens of some countries, such as the **USA, UK, EU member states, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore**, and others, can enter Dubai visa-free or obtain a visa on arrival, usually for a period of 30 to 90 days, depending on the nationality.

*GCC Residents**

Citizens of **Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)** countries (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar) do not need a visa to enter Dubai. However, residents of GCC countries (non-citizens) may need to apply for an e-visa depending on their nationality.

Are there age restrictions for purchasing and consuming alcohol?

Yes, the legal drinking age in Dubai is 21. Many venues will check ID at the door to ensure you meet the legal requirement. It’s a good idea to carry your identification with you when attending all our events!

Do I need to dress conservatively for Dubai Caribbean Carnival or at clubs and bars?

No, you don’t need to dress conservatively in Dubai’s nightlife venues. While Dubai is in a region with traditional values, the city itself is very liberal when it comes to fashion in nightlife settings.

You’ll find people wearing bold, fashionable, and even revealing outfits in top clubs and bars, similar to what you might see in Miami or Las Vegas.

Just remember to respect the dress code for each venue, as some upscale places may require more formal attire.

We will soon release our "How to Dress" guide for each event! But know that in Dubai, there's no such thing as 'too chic'!

What about dressing for beach clubs and day parties?

Eg. Duckwork and the Colourland Jouvert Experience?

Dubai is famous for its beach clubs and day parties, and the dress code here is much more laid-back.

Swimwear is perfectly acceptable during the day, with men often in board shorts alone or paired with open shirts. Women are usually in bikinis with the option of trendy cover-ups.
